Class One is a Reception class, working with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
Our children have full access to our outside area, and we actively encourage the children to use this extension to the traditional classroom as much as possible. Our classroom even extends further to our Spinney, in the photos below you can see the children making the story “The Giving Tree” a little more real.
During our poetry week, we took a walk in the Spinney and thought about autumn and all the things we can see, smell, hear, touch and taste during this season. We had fun creating our own class poem about Autumn.
by Class 1
Autumn tiptoed through the gate,
Skipping quietly through our garden,
Riding an old bike.
It first jumped over the wall
And through a hoop.
It is chilly outside and sometimes it rains.
The leaves change colour.
The leaves are falling down.
You can smell the wind,
You can smell the leaves.
It smells cold.
It smells like leaves burning.
We like the taste of plums, apples and pears.
We love autumn!!!
